(Recipe to try in HCP)
MARBLE CAKE
Ingredients:
250g flour
250g butter
250g sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla essence
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp cocoa powder (mix with 2-3 tbsp of warm water to form a paste)
60ml milk (optional or can add lesser)
Method:
- Sieve flour, baking powder and salt
- Grease the HCP
- Beat butter and sugar till light-colored and fluffy
- Add in vanilla essence and eggs one at a time, beat and mix well before adding another in. Add in milk (optional)
- Gently fold in flour in 3 batches (do not over-mix)
- Scoop about 1/3 of mixture into the bowl of cocoa paste, mix well (do not over-mix)
- Layer the 2 mixture into HCP, lightly stir with a fork or chopstick to create swirls
- Bake on low heat for 10-12 minutes, flip and bake for another 5 minutes (bake time may vary due to stove and flame size) Do check after 6 minutes or so and increase timing if necessary before flipping
